Greetings!
Excitement abounds in anticipation of the upcoming American Academy of Allergy Asthma and Immunology annual meeting in San Diego (Feb 23-28)! INDOOR Biotechnologies will present data on multiplexed immunoassays (see below); cockroach allergen structure; and sequence analysis of monoclonal ab to mite allergens, first raised over 20 years ago.....
Focus On.... is a new feature of INBIO eNews which will provide a snapshot (2 minute read) of scientific information about allergens. This month we delve into food allergens and Focus On.... Ara h 1, one of the most important peanut allergens.
We have introduced purified natural Ara h 1 into our product line. Other new products include LoTox¢â low endotoxin natural Der p 2, and an ELISA for the major timothy pollen allergen, Phl p 5.
We look forward to seeing you in San Diego!

Please join us at exhibit number 1035 for further information about our products and services in the US, EU, Japan and other parts of the world. We will have information on purified allergens, including LoTox¢â low endotoxin allergens, ELISA products and rapid tests. We will also be demonstrating a new dust collection device.
Scientists from INDOOR Biotechnologies have oral presentations and six posters at the meeting.

Congratulations to Dr. Maxcie Sikora and Serena O'Neil, recipients of INBIO Travel Grant Awards to attend the AAAAI. We look forward to their presentations on cystic fibrosis in a patient with common variable immunodeficiency, and on BASE, a new cat allergen. Each awardee receives a $750 grant to cover travel and accommodation expenses.

Phl p 5 causes sensitization in 60-70% of Timothy pollen allergic patients. Recombinant Phl p 5 has been successfully used in immunotherapy trials.
The ELISA kit for Phl p 5 uses two monoclonal antibodies and a natural Phl p 5 standard: sensitivity ~4ng/ml.

Indoor Biotechnologies, working together with Radix Biosolutions, has developed fluorescent multiplex array technology for allergen detection. Our paper has just been published in the February edition of The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. Earle et al, JACI 2007;119:428-33 (see: www.jacionline.org ). The allergen array is a single test that measures 5-10 allergens (or more!) simultaneously. Multiplex technology for total and allergen specific IgE will also be presented at AAAAI. |
